SOMATIC EXPERIENCING®
Somatic Experiencing® is an evidence based technique used primarily for trauma. Physical pain or difficult emotions may result from an accident, loss, being the victim of crime, bullying, emotional, physical or sexual abuse, or the experience of a life threatening event. Sometimes there may be no apparent cause.
An SE® session involves bringing your attention to physical sensations, continuously reducing anxiety throughout. An improvement is usually felt at the first session. People often worry that in order to feel better, they have to talk about what has happened or feel difficult emotions. There is no need to talk about traumatic events unless you wish to.
SE® is also a fast, effective remedy for lack of confidence, work and family difficulties, worry and day-to-day stress. One or two sessions often result in the relief of symptoms, bringing about the ability to enjoy life again.
