Myofascial Release

Fascia is the three dimensional web of connective tissue that extends throughout our bodies, surrounding organs and muscle fibres. Physical or emotional trauma can make us tense up and cause our fascia to constrict, creating pain which may be longstanding and difficult to treat. Tests such as MRI or CAT scans, X-rays etc., don’t show fascial restrictions which are often the cause of chronic undiagnosed pain and the result of trauma.
Myofascial Release (MFR) is an exciting and remarkable way of working that can relieve chronic and acute pain and deep seated tension. Done properly it is a very effective way of working with complex pain and can also be used on people with whom ordinary massage may be unhelpful or too painful.
Course Description
The course is taught in three separate two-day master-classes in such a way that you can incorporate it immediately and effectively into your massage practice.
"MFR is not only the technique I use most in my practice - it's also the one clients recommend most frequently to their friends and family. Many people have been referred to me for myofascial release because other treatments they've tried simply haven't been effective - especially in the long term. I pretty much incorporate MFR in all my treatments now" Alison, Massage & Trauma Therapist, Ayrshire

A maximum of eight people will be accepted per course to ensure individual attention. Online supervision sessions are arranged between classes, to discuss practice cases.
"I have found the MFR course invaluable. Many of my clients seemed to need something more than I was able to give, their issues were complex and I felt they needed attention to something more than just their muscles. When I found the MFR course I knew it was what I could use. I now incorporate the techniques into my regular practice and my clients are definitely finding it helps." - Mairi, Massage Therapist, Dundee
