4th/5th July 2026.
This workshop is now full (maximum class size of 15)
Due to the numbers applying, we've opened up another six places from the original 9.
Somatic Trauma Therapy is a very effective way of working with the physical and emotional distress that trauma can cause. It works with the impact on the body of sudden or cumulative trauma, which can manifest through a range of physical and emotional symptoms, by bringing attention to the physical sensations of the body and using slow movements and verbal guidance to reduce levels of anxiety or fear.
It can be used by anyone working with individuals that display symptoms of trauma.
Course Description
In this experiential weekend Simonetta will demonstrate simple yet effective ways of working with trauma. You will be introduced to useful and safe methods to reduce anxiety in your clients without interfering with their process.
What you will learn
- simple exercises that you can take away and use immediately
- techniques that may be introduced gently while taking the case history and then incorporated into your own style of work
- most importantly you are taught how to keep your client feeling safe
Personalised way of learning
You will learn directly from our school director, Simonetta Logan, a graduate of Babette Rothschild’s Somatic Trauma Therapy and an advanced graduate of Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing©. She has been working effectively with trauma for over thirty years.
A maximum of nine people will be accepted on the course to ensure individual attention.
“It was amazing. I feel you got a good balance between experiential work and information giving. You were clear and concise and so helpful in guiding and facilitating client work. If you were to run further workshops on somatic therapy I would certainly love to learn more and would recommend to others. Last week the techniques helped me in working with five clients so what I learnt was put to good use immediately. Really, thank you.” Rosie (Counsellor, massage therapist)
